Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) is an innovative technique for mobilising communities to completely eradicate open defecation (OD) practises. Communities are facilitated to conduct their own appraisal and analysis of open defecation (OD) and take their own action to become ODF (open defecation free). In order to bring the drastic changes BAE focuses the behavioural change needed to ensure real and sustainable improvements. By raising awareness forming Wash Committee, CLTS triggers the community’s desire for collective change people into action and encourages innovation, mutual support and appropriate local solutions, thus leading to greater ownership and sustainability. Apart from this BAE emphasizing on low cost of toilet, RRWHS (Roof Rain Water Harvesting Structures) in Schools, ICDS centres or community based. Creating Water storage structure i.e. estimation/design/monitoring/implementation of Diversit dams/check dam/anicuts. On the other side our technical team also expert to monitor & designing/estimating the earthen work by creating community assets for water storage structures for irrigation & livelihood purpose i.e. Pond deepening/desalting/renovating, canal renovation, well repairing or reconstructing.
Bengal Aqua focuses on Community Resilience & Capacity Building on Disaster Management, Sustainable Water Management & livelihood by coalition with Non-Government Organization, governments departments as well as grass root level volunteers. The motto of community resilience is the capacity of a system, community or society potentially exposed to hazards to adapt, by resisting or changing in order to reach and maintain an acceptable level of functioning and structure.
